It all started with a group of teenagers and a simple love for football. Back then, we called ourselves 猛狼隊(Fierce Wolf Team) — inspired by the Taiwanese drama 籃球火 (Hot Shot). We didn’t know it yet, but that name would grow into something much bigger.

Fast forward to 2025, when our pioneer, ZY, sparked an idea: What if we take on Mount Kinabalu in 2026? That single question brought together seven of us — forming the very first core team for what would become our first major hike.

As we prepared, we wanted a name that carried our roots forward — something that still honored the wolf spirit we started with. That’s when we found it.

Okami.
In Japanese, Okami means “wolf.”
In Malay, kami means “we.”

It felt perfect. A name that represents not just strength, but unity. Not just identity, but belonging.

Because at the heart of it, that’s who we are:
A team that moves together, grows together, and stands by one simple motto —
Leave no man behind.

We might not be the fittest individuals on our own,
but as a pack, we push each other, support each other, and go far beyond our limits.

So when people ask, “Who is Okami?”
Our answer is simple:

Kami. Us.

And this is only the beginning. More hikes, more challenges, more memories together.

What started as an idea became a test of endurance, discipline, and trust. Through steep trails, thin air, and silent hours before sunrise — we kept moving.

Step by Step. Together.

At the summit, nothing felt louder than the silence.

That was the moment Okami was born.

We are a couple of nomads who used to explore the globe. The day we stepped our foot on Balinese ground one thing was clear - we fell in love. We kept coming back every few months and understood that this is a love affair for a lifetime. We fully moved here in 2018 and been exploring the island ever since. We’re excited to share what we’ve found and show you this beautiful corner of the world.
